The country's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in the city's east were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to water systems, as stated by city officials.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, based on information from local officials.

Russian forces has intensified strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and applying restrictions," he wrote in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets targeted energy facilities, describing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to fix the damage.

A series of attacks hit energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Area administrators said the city came under intense attacks throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child died and three other people were wounded.

The assaults succeed periods of aerial attacks in the territory, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to identify.

Government officials told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
